Job Overview:

As a Mechanical Designer within Oil & Gas EPC project team, it will be responsible for producing detailed mechanical design drawings and 3D models for offshore equipment, systems, and structures used in the Bul Haine project. This role involves close coordination with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, project requirements, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D/3D mechanical design drawings and models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDMS, or equivalent).
• Develop and review technical documentation including equipment layouts, piping supports, mechanical assemblies, and materials lists.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate and manufacturable designs.
• Participate in design reviews, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Support procurement by preparing design packages and reviewing vendor drawings and datasheets.
• Assist in resolving design issues during fabrication and construction phases through technical clarifications and revisions.
• Maintain design data integrity and version control through document management systems.
• Ensure all mechanical designs follow regulatory guidelines and company quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in offshore oil & gas or marine projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
• Understanding of offshore mechanical systems, equipment, and fabrication processes.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills for collaboration across multiple disciplines.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO) is preferred.

We are looking for a Senior Latheman for an onshore oil and gas EPC project.

• Contract Duration: 2 years
• Location: Middle East
• Rotation: 90 days on – 30 days off
• Expected Start Date: April 2020

REQUIREMENTS

• College Diploma or Senior High School Diploma in mechanical subject
• 10 years of machining work experience
• Relevant Machining Certificate
• Good skill in operation of lathe, grinding machine, milling machine and drilling machine to process all kids of keyway, shaft, sleeves, flange and other accessories for field maintenance job.
• Knowledge of general safety procedures used in oil and gas production area, i.e. PTW, JSA etc
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, especially in Middle East
• Good English communication. Can provide onsite technical training to Iraqi Employee in English.

As a Mechanical Engineer within Oil & Gas EPC project team, it will play a vital role in the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment used in the exploration, production, and processing of oil and gas. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with multiple disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems to meet project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with process, civil, structural, and electrical engineers to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Review vendor documentation and participate in equipment procurement specifications.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases to resolve mechanical engineering issues.
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, and local regulations.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, reports, datasheets, and manuals.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety reviews, and HAZOP studies to uphold project and operational integrity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas sector or related fields.
• Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDMS, or equivalent) and analysis tools (e.g., Caesar II or ANSYS) is preferred.
• Familiarity with oil and gas equipment design, fabrication, and maintenance practices.
• Strong understanding of codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and safety regulations
